Kater Leatherman

Our homes are so much a part of our lives that we don’t always
see its faults. Buyers will stop looking for what’s right and start wondering “what’s wrong” it they notice something that needs repair and/or paint. The secret to selling your home quickly and for top dollar lies in seeing your home through buyers eyes. To them, it’s a commodity. Therefore, my goal is to create a product that the buyer will remember.

Creating a clean, new feeling can
transform your bottom line.

FIRST THINGS FIRST....
IF YOU CAN'T SEE IT, IT'S HARD TO SELL IT

before & after staged home I lived in this 1952 Glass House on Gibson Island , Maryland from 1993 to 2005. For the staging of the exterior, I first had the holly trees removed in front of the living room. Next, I had the ground debris cleared out before they laid a thick 2" layer of mulch. By leaving the dogwoods, oaks, and poplars, I was able to maintain our privacy while giving the one acre yard a neat, manicured look. To a buyer, this represents a low maintenance property and that sells!
The house was featured in the September 2005 issue of Style and Chesapeake Life Magazines.

Paint gives the biggest bang for the buck.

SCALING BACK UNCOVERS ITS CHARM AND S P A C E
decluttered staged home
This tiny row l,200 sq. ft. home in Northwest Washington had to be decluttered, furniture rearranged, and given a thorough cleaning before it could go on the market. First, I removed two of the chairs from the round table and packed up 1/3 of the books and photographs from the bookcase. For convenience, the bar by the front door was staged closer to the kitchen which was at the opposite end of the room. There were two small end tables on either side of the sofa (on the right side of the room) that I moved to the front to make a coffee table. I rearranged a couple of wall hangings and, except for three accessories, cleared off the top of the mahogany chest at left. The end result is a living space that appears bigger. And bigger sells!

Buyers tend to think that what they see is what they get!
